2009 High Plains Chautauqua - 10th Anniversary!

American Spirit: An Endless Quest

Colorado Humanities would like to thank all the living historians and scholars, volunteers and audience members for making the 10th annual High Plains Chautauqua an incredible success. This year's event, held in Greeley, CO was the culmination of a three-year series focusing on the America identity, from colonial times through the 20th Century. Presenters portrayed such 20th Century titans as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Albert Einstein, Ernest Hemingway, Cesar Chavez, General Douglas MacArther and others to over 5,500 captivated audience members throughout the week. Daytime lectures, workshops, dramatizations, children's activities, and performances by Young Chautauquans took place at Aims Community College and at other venues throughout Greeley.
