2017 Black History Live

As part of our annual Black History Live tour, Harriet Tubman is coming to Colorado!

National humanities and Chautauqua scholar Becky Stone will portray Harriet Tubman during this year’s programs, showing us how one woman became an abolitionist, leading hundreds of slaves to freedom on the Underground Railroad, Union spy during the American Civil War, and one of America's most beloved humanitarians.

Becky Stone holds a B.A. in Drama from Vassar College and a M.A. from Villanova University in Elementary Educational Counseling. Professor Stone has performed at libraries, schools, and universities across North Carolina, as well as camps, church conferences, and music festivals throughout the country.
