SUMMARY:Veterans Writing Workshop Online
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to tell your story?\nVeterans Writing Workshops offer a safe place for people to share and receive feedback on their writing. All military-affiliated people (spouses\, family members\, caregivers) are welcome to join the workshops. Homeless veterans and their families are particularly welcome. Previous writing experience is not necessary. All workshops are free. For more information\, please contact Jorge Arroyo at bdpaperworks@gmail.com. \nWriting Workshop Co-leaders\nJorge Isaac Arroyo was born and raised in La Playa de Ponce\, Puerto Rico. He enlisted in the US Army in 1998 as a Power Generation Specialist. He was stationed with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and the 17th Signal Battalion when he was deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Always an avid reader\, he studied Spanish Literature at New Mexico State University. At NMSU\, he developed a love for spoken word and existentialist science fiction with the poetry group Soul Verse. He currently teaches Spanish at CSU-Pueblo and is part of Pilgrimage Magazine editorial board. \n  \n  \nJuan J. Morales is the son of an Ecuadorian mother and Puerto Rican father who served 31 years in the US Military. He is the author of three poetry collections\, including The Handyman’s Guide to End Times\, winner of the 2019 International Latino Book Award. He is a CantoMundo Fellow\, a Macondo Fellow\, the Editor/Publisher of Pilgrimage Press\, and Department Chair of English & World Languages at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
