SUMMARY:Common Threads Community Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Common Threads is about bringing people together to share needlework (knitting\, crocheting\, even sewing if you prefer)\, conversation\, and get to know others from our community. It is as much about the conversation as the needlework. \nJust as there will be a variety of knitting and crocheting techniques to discover\, attendees can hope to have diverse viewpoints on topics of the day to share with new friends and neighbors! \nCommon Threads is as much about the conversation as it is about the handiwork. Our topic is “What Do You Think is the Most Important Issue Today”; and everyone will have an opportunity to share what they feel is the most important topic of the day\, while we work. \nCommon Threads is NOT a political or religious discussion or a debate\, it is an opportunity for neighbors to come together to listen and learn from each other while enjoying what we have in common\, our needlework. \nALL are welcome. However\, space is limited so reservations are required.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in Evergreen for a free screening of The Five States of Colorado and an engaging exploration and illustration of the five featured regions’ history\, culture\, concerns\, and needs. Designed for a wide range of audiences from elementary school age to adults\, this film addresses the history and issues within the five regions of Colorado to inform\, educate\, and serve as a basis for community discussion. \nThis Emmy Award-winning film explores how\, in 1861\, the U.S. Congress carved Colorado’s boundaries representing no river\, mountain range\, tribe\, or language group to enclose five distinct areas that are now Southern Colorado\, Western Colorado\, the Eastern Plains\, the Front Range along the eastern face of the mountains\, and Metropolitan Denver. Each region within the state’s man-made boundaries vastly differs in terms of populations\, communities\, cultures\, communications\, and economies that have evolved from their varied geography and histories. Community conversation following the screening. \nThis event is a great opportunity to learn about Colorado\, meet fellow movie enthusiasts\, and support our local community.
