Lewis College\, 130 Noble Hall \n  \nGregory Hobbs\, retired Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court\, will discuss the history and culture of Colorado water\, conditional rights\, supply planning\, instream flows\, kayak courses\, and conservation. Justice Hobbs will also talk about how two opinions he authored for the Court\, brought by Trout Unlimited\, are helping shape water supply planning\, conservation\, and environmental law in Colorado and the West.  \n  \nPart of the Fort Lewis College Life-Long Learning Lecture Series. Lewis College Center for Southwest Studies\, Lyceum Room #120 \n  \nIn the spirit of the 150th anniversary celebration of John Wesley Powell’s trip down the Green and Colorado Rivers in 1869\, the Honorable Judge Gregory Hobbs will be talking about Powell’s vision for the West\, the Colorado River Compact of 1922\, and the status of the new Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan and what it means to the future of the West. This will be free event for FLC students\, faculty\, staff and the public.  \n  \nGregory J. Hobbs\, Jr.\, is the Distinguished Jurist in Residence and Co-Director of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Program\, University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He is also is currently serving as a Senior Water Judge for the Colorado Courts and is assigned to the mediation of water cases. \n  \nSW Colorado History Month \n
