SUMMARY:Unveiling New National History Day Curricula
DESCRIPTION:Colorado Humanities collaborated with National History Day in Colorado (NHDC) to develop four place-based curricula for 6th to 12th graders that highlight the histories of underrepresented groups: the Granada Relocation Center (Amache Concentration Camp)\, Colorado’s Chicano Movement\, the Black American West\, and Colorado’s Southern Ute Tribe and Its Lands. With funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities\, this partnership makes National History Day more accessible to underserved communities and supports a more diverse exploration of Colorado’s cultural heritage. These resources will be presented at NHDC’s Winter Wonderland celebration on December 6 at 5 p.m. at the CU Denver Student Commons Building\, Boettcher Conference Room. We can’t wait to see the student projects inspired by these new resources! Learn more at NHDC.
