Music & Merriment

The Museum of Western Colorado, Colorado Humanities, and local partners will present Music & Merriment September 9 – 10, 2022. Performances, lectures, musical groups, and presentations by local Grand Valley History Players, and national scholars will be offered at the Grand Valley Events Center after an opening night at the Museum of Western Colorado. 9 a.m. — Coffee with the Chautauquans

9:30 a.m. — Karen Vuranch leads a lecture/discussion “Make Your own Kind of Music:  Influences on Cass Elliot”

10:30 a.m. — Susan Marie Frontczak presents a workshop/discussion “Hooked on Humor”

11:30 a.m. — David Fenimore speaks about Woody Guthrie “Game Planning for the Next Dust Bowl”

6 p.m. — Doors Open, Live Music, Food from Lotus’s Mobile Munchies, Music by Palisade High School Choir

7 p.m. — Karen Vuranch as Cass Elliot

8 p.m. — Susan Marie Frontczak as Erma Bombeck
