Join us September 26, 2026!

Join Colorado Humanities and the 2026 Colorado Book Awards finalists at 5:30 pm on Saturday, September 26, at the Tivoli Turnhalle, 900 Auraria Pkwy, Denver, CO 80204, for a celebration of Colorado’s best literature published in 2025.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Author Cocktail Hour: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Meet the Colorado Book Awards 2026 finalists and connect with our state’s literary community over food and drinks. Books by this year’s finalists will be available for purchase on-site from Second Star to the Right, our official bookseller.

Ceremony: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Celebrate the very best of Colorado literature! Our MC, Adrian Miller, will lead us through the evening, featuring a keynote address from Ryan Warner, senior host of CPR’s Colorado Matters, reflecting on the Colorado Book Awards in this historic Colorado 150/America 250 year. Colorado Poet Laureate Crisosto Apache will share a special poetry reading before we reveal the winners of the 2026 Colorado Book Awards.

Dessert Reception: 8:00pm – 9:00pm

Stay and celebrate! Congratulate this year’s winners, enjoy dessert, snap a photo at the photo booth, and pick up copies of the winning books to take home.

The 2026 Colorado Book Awards are presented in partnership with the Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry (Dphi). Design credit: Mia Moreno (MSU Denver student).
