Become a Humanities Champion
Why Now?
Since the cancellation of all federal funding to state humanities councils in April of 2025, Colorado Humanities has operated without this support for the first time. It's a profound shift—but our work is not ending.
With your partnership, we will continue to preserve the histories, languages, ideas, and cultural traditions that make Colorado the place we call home. As Colorado Humanities enters a new chapter without federal funding, your support is more critical than ever.
Today, we invite you to stand with us to protect the voices of Colorado's many communities while ensuring that future generations inherit not just the land we live on, but the stories that give it meaning.
Together, we can #SaveColoradoStories.
How Can I Help?
As a Champion, you're helping to raise awareness and support for the programs that connect, educate, and inspire Coloradans across generations. There are three ways to become a champion:

Support any cause important to you based on these four categories:
Keepers of Our Stories
Community Connections Champions
Knowledge Champions
Heritage Champions
This is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the humanities and want to take a more active role. Take charge and do outreach in your own communities, set a goal of your choice, and invite others to join. This option involves some time commitment to set up your cause and consistent efforts to drive people to your fundraiser.
Note: Colorado Humanities has created a toolkit with a step-by-step guide, sample language, and ready-to-use graphics to make sharing on social media simple.
Advocate
Help spread the word through your own networks.
This option is ideal for those who may not have the time to fully manage a fundraiser but still want to participate. It's flexible, and you can contribute the level of time and effort that works best for you.
