Jeannette Rankin Portrayal
One Woman, One Vote – March 2020
Actor and scholar Mary Jane Bradbury portrayed Jeannette Rankin in presentations in Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Thornton, Denver, and Littleton March 9 – 13, 2020. This living history tour focused on Rankin’s rise to political prominence during the volatile political climate of the last years of the suffrage fight and her courage as a pioneering woman politician.
Jeannette Rankin was the first woman elected to the U.S. Congress. A suffragist, humanitarian, and advocate for social reform, Rankin was the only member of Congress to vote against U.S. entry into both world wars. Hear in her own words her views on equality and government reform.
Performances were followed with a question and answer time with Jeannette Rankin and then with Mary Jane Bradbury.
Thank you to Mary Jane Bradbury, and to our partners for making this tour a success!
