Featuring: the Grand Valley Living History Players and Larry Bounds as Walter Cronkite.
Colorado Humanities’ Chautauqua is a living history festival featuring first-person interpretations of historical and/or literary figures. In costume, the Chautauqua scholar delivers a monologue using the historical figure’s words and then answers questions from the audience as that person would have. Finally, the scholar steps out of character to answer questions that may explore how lessons from the character’s life and philosophy relate to us today.
The 2019 theme, “That’s The Way It Is: Our Baby Boom Years” will bring the history of the 1950s and ‘60s to life in the most fun and enjoyable way.
